Job Title : Chief Operating Officer Location : Cleveland, OH (Hybrid; travel OK) Our client is a dynamic, fast-growing real estate investment firm specializing in the acquisition, renovation, and disposition of residential properties. Position Overview: They are seeking a hands-on Chief Operating Officer to lead and scale their real estate operations, initially focusing on the Cleveland market with planned expansion to additional regions. The ideal candidate will be both strategic and tactical, capable of building and managing teams while being willing to roll up their sleeves and work directly in the field when needed. Key Responsibilities: Operations Leadership Oversee the entire acquisition-to-disposition process, including property sourcing, renovation, leasing, and sales Build and manage high-performing teams across acquisitions, construction management, and property management Develop and implement systems, processes, and KPIs to create a consistent, repeatable business model Create operational playbooks that can be replicated in future markets Manage and optimize the speed of property turnaround to maximize capital efficiency Team Development Recruit, hire, and develop key personnel across all operational functions Build a mid-level management structure to support scaling operations Oversee construction managers, property managers, and acquisition specialists Ensure proper training and accountability across all operational teams Construction & Property Management Oversee renovation projects from scope definition through completion Manage contractor relationships, bidding processes, and project timelines Ensure quality control and compliance with renovation standards Supervise property management operations, including tenant screening, leasing, and maintenance Financial Performance Drive operational efficiency to maximize per-unit profitability Manage renovation budgets and operational costs Work to reduce project timelines to increase capital turnover and annual returns Implement controls to prevent theft and ensure financial integrity Qualifications Proven experience in real estate operations, preferably in residential property management or development Strong track record of scaling operations and building teams Experience with construction management and contractor oversight Demonstrated ability to create and implement operational systems and processes Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets Excellence in project management and ability to manage multiple priorities Outstanding leadership and team-building capabilities Location & Travel Initial presence required in Cleveland, Ohio (travel OK) Company-provided temporary housing available for first 6 months Flexibility for remote work/travel home on weekends Future travel to additional markets as the company expands What they Offer: Base salary commensurate with experience Performance-based bonus structure tied to unit volume and profitability Significant earning potential as the company scales to 100 units per month Comprehensive benefits package Right Hand Talent
