Kelly Services is looking for a detail-oriented Injection Molding Set-Up Operator in Arnold, MO. The primary responsibility of this role is to work with fellow team members to change over molds and head tooling at the end of a production run and set up molds and head tooling for the next production run. These changeovers will be on injection and extrusion blow mold machines. The Set-Up Operator must ensure that machine utilities are set up correctly so that the mold and head tooling function properly to produce high-quality parts at startup.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and collaborate with the setup team during all phases of the mold change-over process and into production.
• Monitor surroundings at all times and take appropriate actions to address potential issues.
• Apply strong mechanical skills to fully understand and manage the functions of various machine components.
• Operate machine controls, adjust heater settings, and manage service settings; guide technicians with any questions or concerns.
• Follow and enforce proper lock-out tag-out procedures when working around machinery.
• Manage heater control and wiring systems; properly connect heaters and thermocouples before machine power is activated.
• Teach and verify the work of other team members to ensure accurate setup and operation.
• Troubleshoot electrical devices using a multi-meter, temperature scanner, and other test devices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Mechanical and technical aptitude with hands-on mechanical experience preferred.
• Education: High school diploma required; technical associate degree in general mechanics, electrical technology, plastics molding technology, or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of actual work experience in manufacturing maintenance, with an emphasis on two of three of the following: mechanical, electrical, and plastics mold set-up experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
• Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
