MASS is seeking a full-time Landscape Project Manager to join our team in Boston, MA. This is a hybrid role, with a minimum of 3 days per week spent working in the office.

MASS Design Group is a mission-driven design collective that aspires toward a regenerative and transdisciplinary design culture that advances economic, social, and environmental justice from the scale of a site to the scale of a system. We believe that all communities should have agency in the design process and are seeking a passionate and experienced colleague to join our team and help lead the way. Our work has expanded to include projects in over a dozen countries in Africa and the Americas with a portfolio of design services that spans landscape architecture, architectural design, master planning, engineering, and strategic planning.

We are looking for a curious, self-motivated individual (life long learner!) with a passion for the potential of landscape architecture in creating an abundant future for all. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively to tackle unique design problems around the world and will have the creativity and judgment to meet the unique challenges each presents. We are constantly seeking to improve the way we work as well as the quality of work we produce, and this position offers great potential for candidates who want to grow with our organization.

The ideal candidate has:

  1. 5+ years of experience in all phases of the design process on a variety of scales of projects;
  2. A professional degree in landscape architecture;
  3. Capacity to lead a team and project across all phases of design;
  4. Experience managing client and consultant expectations, developing project schedules and budgets, preparing contracts, and negotiating proposals;
  5. Ability to lead interdisciplinary coordination, scheduling and leading coordination meetings, and effectively communicating with subconsultants;
  6. The skills necessary to effectively apply MASS methodology to diverse projects and enforce high project standards;
  7. The ability to maintain flexibility and humility toward the clients and communities we serve;
  8. Attention to detail, consistency, and completeness & ability to meet deadlines, respond to timely project delivery;
  9. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Suite, and Revit. Lumion and LandFX are a plus;
  10. Additional experience in food systems, climate-smart design, low-carbon design, carbon sequestration and biodiversity analytics, ecology, conservation, and landscape restoration or arborist, horticulturist or other certifications is desirable but not required.

At MASS Design Group we want people to be afforded the ability to do public interest work as a career and offer competitive salaries, health insurance, retirement plans as well as the opportunity to work with lighthouse organizations on seminal projects that promote justice and human dignity. The expected salary range for this position will start at $70,000 and increase commensurate with experience.

With over 130 employees from almost a dozen countries, MASS lives our belief that only a diverse staff from widely varied cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds is properly equipped to tackle complex challenges in our communities. We aspire to create a more inclusive architecture profession and encourage all qualified individuals to apply.

Interested candidates should submit all application materials through SlideRoom. Please, no phone calls or recruiting agencies. We will be in touch with next steps once your application has been reviewed.
