Job Summary/Description: Atlanta News First (WANF) is looking for an energetic, engaged, and engaging anchor to join our news team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced journalist who loves to connect with the community through compelling storytelling from diverse perspectives.
Duties/Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
- Generate enterprise story ideas/ franchise content
- General assignment reporting
- Create compelling content for broadcast, streaming, digital, and social platforms daily
- Be a leader in the newsroom by actively engaging in the editorial process
- Develop a strong network of sources in the community
- Anchor evening newscasts, fill-in on other newscasts/ breaking news desk as needed
- Anchor streaming segments as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred
- 7 years of experience as an on-air broadcast journalist preferred
- Major market experience preferred
- Excellent writer
- Strong time-management
- Outstanding news judgment
- Team player, team-builder, player/ coach leader
