Are you a pharmacy student who’s interested in engaging in an internship with a well-rounded inpatient pharmacy experience to prepare for clinical rotations and a fulfilling pharmacist career in the future? Consider joining our team as a Pharmacy Intern!
\nFirst-year pharmacy interns gain experience in general inpatient pharmacy operations while performing pharmacy technician duties including pharmacy automation operation, sterile room compounding, medication cabinet restock and more. Second and third-year interns transition to the medication reconciliation team in Emergency Department and will participate in completion and documentation of medication histories. Our interns can take advantage of the opportunity to shadow our clinical pharmacists in critical care, emergency medicine, neonatal care, and internal medicine units as time permits.
\nFirst- and second-year interns will be required to work a minimum of two 8-hour weekend shifts every two-week pay period and a minimum of one 5-hour weekday shift every week (total of at least 400 hours per year to meet institutional guidelines). The third-year interns will be required to work a minimum of two 8-hour weekend shifts every month (total of at least 200 hours per year). Additionally, interns will be expected to work minimum of 2 holidays per year.
\nApplicants who do not yet have their pharmacy intern license with the Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy will be considered as a Pharmacy Assistant and will transition to Pharmacy Intern once the licensure is received.
