We are looking for a Primary School Teacher for a bilingual school based in Shanghai. This is a full-time position starting in February 2025. About the schoolA bilingual school, which was founded five years ago, is situated in the middle of the Pudong and Huangpu district of Shanghai. It provides bilingual teaching to students from first grade to the 12th grade of elementary, middle and high school. The school follows the Chinese national curriculum and has elements from the British IGCSE and A levels curriculums to meet the academic needs of its students. Job responsibilitiesReviewing curriculum needs and, in consultation with other staff and the Senior Management, choose courses that are appropriate to the needs of our Primary pupilsInvolved in the development of agreed schemes of work for all year groupsAttending regular meetings of Primary school staff at which curriculum planning, pupil progress, and teaching and learning needs are discussed, and good practice is sharedParticipation in the development and monitoring of Primary School targetsWorking with other Primary School teachers to develop policies and to ensure that existing policies are implemented effectivelyEnriching the curriculum for Primary Pupils by ensuring that there is a varied and exciting programme of extra- curricular activitiesEvaluating and grading pupils’ work, giving appropriate feedback and maintaining individual records of pupils’ progress and developmentResearching new topic areas, maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge, and devising and developing new curriculum resourcesSelecting and using a range of different learning resources and equipmentParticipating in regular school meetings, INSET, school training events, observation and professional review in order to maximize the quality of personal teachingParticipating in and organizing extracurricular activities RequirementsAppropriate degree and teaching qualification in primary education, such as B.Ed. or P.G.C.E., or QTS or equivalentA minimum two years’ teaching experience in a primary school settingExperience of overseas teaching or of teaching international pupils is an advantageA track record of exceptional pastoral care and be able to prioritize the happiness and wellbeing of all studentsPrevious experience working with students for whom English is not their first language Salary and benefitsMonthly salary of 22,000 to 27,000 RMB before tax commensurate with experience and qualificationsMonthly housing allowance of 8,000 to 10,000 RMBPublic holidaysFully paid Summer and Winter holidaysAirfare allowanceRelocation allowanceHealth InsuranceAnnual performance bonusAnnual completion bonus
