+ Associates or Bachelors degree in the Life Sciences (Horticulture, Agriculture, Biology, etc) OR 6 months of greenhouse, or field experience.
Job Description
+ Perform day-to-day greenhouse/growth chamber activities including planting, pollinating, tissue sampling, pest/disease scouting, harvesting, threshing, discarding, chamber sanitation, general plant care, data collection, data entry, facility cleanliness, and maintaining safety standards.
+ This role requires working within a greenhouse facilitythere is no lab work involved. Responsibilities include working in new soybean growth chambers, collecting tissue samples from soybean plants for DNA analysis, watering, potting soil, and caring for all plants in the growth chamber.
+ Additional duties include replanting samples after data review, assisting in operating the soybean threshing machine, plating samples for the Molecular Marker group, cleaning the facility, plant maintenance (trimming, training, and node cleaning), cross-pollinating, and plant discard.
+ You will be working with soybean, wheat, pollen, and dust.
