Overview: seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Engineer to join our client's team. This role involves the development, implementation, and enforcement of comprehensive safety programs to ensure a secure working environment. The ideal candidate will be adept in interpreting safety regulations and fostering a culture of safety-first among employees. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures tailored to regulatory compliance. Interpret and apply federal, state, and local safety regulations to ensure full compliance. Provide expert advice and audits to line management for effective implementation of EHS initiatives. Conduct training sessions including employee orientation and emergency response protocols, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards. Advise on equipment design and ergonomics to enhance workplace safety. Manage and evaluate the Safety Management System, tracking progress and outcomes. Maintain documentation related to permits, safety equipment, and regulatory requirements. Ensure contractor compliance with safety policies when working on-site. Prepare and present reports on the status of health and safety programs to management. Lead investigations into accidents and injuries, compiling reports for regulatory bodies. Recommend and implement corrective and preventive measures. Lead emergency response initiatives, aligning with company policies and procedures. Promote a culture of safety and develop internal safety advocates. Perform other related duties as required. Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. In-depth knowledge of safety policies and OSHA standards. Ability to effectively train and mentor staff. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field. Minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Certified Safety Professional status is preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer. Capable of lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally. Must be able to traverse the entire facility for safety inspections.
